Ashley Biden: VP's Daughter Does Cocaine

E-mail Print PDF

A "friend" of Vice President Joseph Biden's daughter, Ashley, is attempting to hawk a videotape that he claims shows her snorting cocaine at a house party this month in Delaware.

The anonymous male acquaintance of Ashley took the video, said Thomas Dunlap, a lawyer representing the seller.

"At one point she pretty much complains that the line isn't big enough," said the second lawyer, who declined to identify himself. "And she talks about her dad."

Biden has been an outspoken crusader against drugs, coining the term "drug czar" in 1982 while campaigning for a more forceful "war on drugs."

The lawyers declined to name the person who shot the video, but said he knew Ashley well and had attended other parties with her at which there were illegal drugs.

This isn't the first brush with scandal for Ashley, who was arrested in 2002 when she yelled at a cop trying to arrest her disorderly friend outside a Chicago club, according to published report.

She was charged with obstructing, but the rap was later dropped after she apologized.

According to the website, Shlomi, 44, was arrested last month on a felony battery charge following a violent confrontation with Sasha Harris, 26, in his South Beach hotel room.

Shlomi told police he paid Harris about $1,000 in cash after she "propositioned him for straight sex." Shlomi said that when he kissed Harris, she suddenly "bit his tongue and would not let go."

Justin Timberlake Clothing Line William Rast

E-mail Print PDF

So making music has been Justin Timberlake’s passion for some time but now he can add another feather in his cap. Or rather you can say he is wearing another hat these days altogether.

The hat of a fashion designer. If you  have been a fan of William Rast clothing you probably know that he started this clothing line with his childhood friend and business magnate Trace Ayala.

The story behind the clothing line is actually quite peculiar and has a very staid story behind it. Which actually makes it quite interesting and lend credibility to their family and business sense. William Rast is a tribute and acknowledgment to their respective grand fathers.

So they took this name and added it to their clothing fashion line. Now everytime you wear those designer skinny jeans, you should know that William Rast is not some royal gentry from England aka Polo aka Ralph Lauren etc but probably an old boring grandfather.

Billy Donovan to Leave Florida for Kentucky

E-mail Print PDF
This time, there will be no drama.

Florida released a statement on Friday afternoon to address any possible chance that Gators basketball coach Billy Donovan would be a candidate for the Kentucky job.

Billy Gillispie was fired at an afternoon press conference after two seasons, going 40-27. This year's team finished 22-14, tied for the second-most losses in the program's 106-year history. The Wildcats also failed to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1991.

Donovan, a former UK assistant under Rick Pitino who was beloved by the Wildcats' fans, led UF to back-to-back national titles in 2006 in 2007. The second championship season concluded with Tubby Smith leaving Kentucky to take the head coaching job at Minnesota. At the time, the Gators were playing in the regional tournament in St. Louis. Rumors that Donovan would consider going to Kentucky didn't die out until after the NCAA Tournament concluded.

This time, Donovan addressed speculation head-on and put an end to it, immediately.

Donovan's current contract includes a clause that requires him to get written permission from athletic director Jeremy Foley before discussing other employment. The deal, which runs through the 2012-13 season and is worth about $3.5 million per year, also includes a buyout clause.

If Donovan, who owns the school record for coaching wins with a 310-125 record in 13 seasons, leaves without being fired, he must pay the school $500,000 or the total termination compensation due his assistant coaches, whichever is less.

He is also due a $400,000 longevity bonus for the past season. He will receive another bonus of $500,000 for coaching the entire 2009-10 season. He also has longevity bonuses in his contract that pay him $400,000, $450,000 and $500,000 the final three years of the current deal.

Florida finished this past season with a 25-11 record and lost 71-62 to Penn State in the third round of the NIT. The Gators had a streak of nine straight NCAA tourney bids, the most successful run in school history, before it ended in the spring of 2008.

Aaron Spelling's LA Mansion For Sale

E-mail Print PDF
The widow of producer Aaron Spelling is placing "The Manor" in the exclusive Holmby Hills neighborhood on the market for a jaw-dropping $150 million, making it by far the most expensive home for sale in the U.S.

The French chateau-style mansion has 56,500 square feet of space on more than 4.7 acres and is the largest home in Los Angeles County. Among the neighbors are the Los Angeles Country Club and, not too far away, the Playboy Mansion.

Candy Spelling's late husband produced hit shows such as "Charlie's Angels," "Dynasty" and "Beverly Hills, 90210." He died in 2006.

"Everything there is glamorous, and is luxurious and it's really great scale," said Sally Forster Jones, an agent with Coldwell Banker Previews International in Los Angeles, which is co-listing the property. "There really is nothing to compare it to."

Spelling told The Associated Press that she let her dog Madison, a soft-coated Wheaten Terrier, help pick out the best real estate agent for the task. She had her security bring the dog into the room every time she met one of the candidate agents and watched how the dog reacted. If Madison didn't like them, Spelling crossed them off the list.

Prospective buyers won't have to worry about passing such scrutiny, Spelling jokes.

"Not at all," she says.

The mansion, built in 1991, is gated and features a winding driveway that leads up to the three-story house, which includes ceilings that reach up to 30 feet high, Jones said.

While some published reports put the tally of rooms in the mansion at well past 100, Jones couldn't provide an exact count.

Spelling says she doesn't know either.

"You're really asking the wrong person," Spelling jokes. "There's a lot. (The house) has evolved and I actually haven't gone around and counted."

The Spellings found no shortage of uses for the many rooms in the mansion, however.

There's a bowling alley, a wine storage and tasting room, gift-wrapping room, a humidity-controlled silver storage room, China room, library, gym and media room, among many others.

The screening room is one of Spelling's favorites.

"I had some really wonderful times entertaining in that room," she said. "We showed movies and I still do."

The room features a movie projection system that automatically comes up from the floor at the same time that shades extend over the windows. It's an idea that came to Candy Spelling in a dream as she sought to avoid having a projection screen open all the time.

"I wanted Aaron to have the best projection room anyone had ever seen, and the biggest, so I came with this solution, not realizing that we had to excavate a lot of dirt to get down that low, to have a special room that housed the screen that was totally dust free," said Spelling, 63.

The Spellings also finished the 17,000-square-foot attic that includes a barber shop-beauty salon.

The home also has five fireplaces, four wet bars, and a wing for service staff with seven bedrooms.

Lavish features also can be found outside the house, including a tennis court, fountains, a waterfall, a pool and spa, a reflection pool and a pool house with a kitchen, and 16 car ports.

The estate also boasts 18th century-style gardens with a citrus orchard and a rooftop rose garden.

Prospective buyers won't have to worry much about parking when they host big parties. The property includes a winding motor court with space for more than 100 cars.

Spelling plans to trade her mansion lifestyle for a luxurious, two-story condo atop a residential tower in Los Angeles that she bought last year for $47 million.

"I have a lot of wonderful, wonderful, wonderful feelings about this house and special things that I went through in building it, with a love that you can't even imagine," she gushed. "Yet I feel like I'm moving on to a new chapter in my life."
